Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 15, 2026 · Last updated: October 15, 2026
Hey, I’m Eric. This policy explains what information I collect, why I collect it, who I share it with, and the choices you have. I’ve written it in plain English because I think you should actually be able to read it.
Who we are
This website, ericdodds.co, is run by StoryHaus, LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. StoryHaus, LLC operates everything I do under my own name and these brands:
Eric Dodds
The Dodds Letters (my weekly newsletter)
Become Known (1:1 consulting)
Build Online, Live Offline (in-person retreats)
In this policy, “I,” “me,” “we,” and “us” mean StoryHaus, LLC. “You” means anyone who visits the site, subscribes to my letters, downloads a free resource, sends me a message, applies to work with me, or joins a retreat.
For anyone in the EU or UK, StoryHaus, LLC is the “controller” of your personal data.

This can include your IP address, browser and device type, general location (city or country level), pages you visit, how you arrived at the site, and the date and time of your visit. See “Cookies and tracking” below.
When you open or click my emails, my email platform records that activity so I can see what’s useful and keep my list healthy.
Information I don’t collect
I don’t knowingly collect sensitive information, such as government ID numbers, health information, or financial account numbers. Please don’t send me that kind of information.
How I use your information
I use your information to run my newsletter, consulting, and retreats, and to improve what I make. If you’re in the EU or UK, the law asks me to name a “legal basis” for each use, so I’ve listed those too.
Sending you my weekly letters, free resources, and updates you signed up for — Your consent
Tagging subscribers by the resources they download, so I can send more relevant emails — Your consent and my legitimate interest in sending useful content
Letting you know when consulting spots or retreat dates open up (waitlists) — Your consent
Replying to your messages, DMs, and emails — My legitimate interest in responding to you
Reviewing applications, scheduling calls, and delivering consulting work — To take steps before entering a contract with you, and to perform that contract
Recording and transcribing consulting calls — Your explicit consent, given before the call is recorded
Organizing retreats and communicating with guests — To perform our contract
Processing payments and sending invoices — To perform our contract
Keeping financial and tax records — To comply with legal obligations
Publishing testimonials, client names, results, or screenshots — Your written consent, which you can withdraw at any time
Understanding how people use the site and improving it — My legitimate interest in running and improving my website, or your consent where the law requires it
Keeping the site, my accounts, and your information secure — My legitimate interest in security, and legal obligations
I don’t use your information to make automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Who I share your information with
I don’t sell your personal information, and I don’t share it with other people for their own marketing. I don’t swap or rent my email list.
I share information only with the service providers that help me run my business. They process it on my behalf and only for the purposes described here.
Framer: Hosts this website and provides basic site analytics
Google Analytics (if used): Website analytics
Kit: Email newsletter, signup forms, and subscriber management
ManyChat: Automated replies to social media messages that deliver free resources
Meta (Instagram, Threads) and other social platforms: Where you message or interact with me

A virtual assistant who helps me run my business may also have access to some of this information. Anyone who helps me is expected to keep it confidential and use it only to support my work.
I may also share information if the law requires it, to protect my rights or someone’s safety, or as part of a sale or restructuring of my business. If that ever happens, this policy would still apply to your information unless you’re told otherwise.
Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files stored in your browser. This site uses a small number of them, mostly to work properly and to help me understand how people use it.
Essential cookies keep the site and its forms working.
Analytics (Framer Analytics, and Google Analytics if I use it) show me things like which pages get visited and where visitors come from. This helps me make the site better.
Embedded content from other sites, such as YouTube videos or social media posts, may set its own cookies when you view or play it. Those companies’ privacy policies apply to that content.
Affiliate links in my reading list may use cookies so the store can tell I referred you. If you buy something, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
I don’t currently use advertising pixels (like the Meta Pixel) on this site. If that changes, I’ll update this policy and give you a way to opt out.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as well if you do.
Do Not Track: Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There’s no common standard for how websites should respond, so this site doesn’t currently respond to those signals. You can still use your browser’s cookie settings to limit tracking.
Third-party tracking: Other companies whose tools I use (like the analytics and embedded content providers above) may collect information about your activity on this site and across other sites over time, as described in their own privacy policies.
Emails and unsubscribing
If you subscribe to my letters, download a free resource, or join a waitlist, I’ll send you emails. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of any email, or by emailing me at eric@thestoryhaus.com.
If you unsubscribe, I’ll stop sending you marketing emails. I may still send you emails related to work we’re doing together, like a call confirmation, a retreat update, or a receipt.
How long I keep your information
I keep information only as long as I need it for the reasons in this policy, or as long as the law requires.
Newsletter subscribers: Until you unsubscribe. If you haven’t opened an email in 6 months, I remove you from my list.
Waitlist signups: Until you unsubscribe, or until the waitlist is no longer active
Consulting applications from people who don’t become clients: 12 months
Client notes, files, call recordings, and transcripts: 2 years after our work ends
Retreat signups and guest emails: 2 years after the retreat
Payment, invoicing, and tax records: 7 years, as required for tax purposes
Testimonials: As long as they’re published, or until you ask me to remove them
Analytics data: According to the default settings of my analytics provider
When I no longer need information, I delete it or make it anonymous.
How I protect your information
I take reasonable steps to keep your information safe. I use well-known service providers with strong security practices, turn on two-factor authentication for my business accounts, and limit who can access your information.
No website or online service is 100% secure, so I can’t guarantee absolute security. If I ever learn of a breach that affects your information, I’ll notify you as required by law.
International transfers
My business is based in the United States, and most of the tools I use store information in the US. If you’re outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
When I transfer personal data from the EU, UK, or other regions with transfer rules, I rely on safeguards my service providers offer, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK equivalent), or on providers certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights and choices
Wherever you live, you can ask me to:
See the personal information I have about you
Correct information that’s wrong or out of date
Delete your information
Stop sending you marketing emails
Withdraw consent you’ve given, such as for a published testimonial or call recordings
If you’re in the EU or UK, you also have the right to:
Receive your data in a portable format
Object to or restrict how I use your data, including when I rely on legitimate interests
Complain to your local data protection authority. I’d appreciate the chance to fix things first, so please reach out to me.
If you’re in California, you also have the right to:
Know what personal information I collect, use, and disclose
Ask me to delete it or correct it
Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. I don’t sell or share it for targeted advertising.
Not be treated differently for using any of these rights
Under California’s “Shine the Light” law, ask whether I’ve shared your personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing. I haven’t.
How to make a request
Email me at eric@thestoryhaus.com with what you’d like me to do. I may ask you to confirm your identity, usually by replying from the email address I have on file. You can also have an authorized agent make a request for you.
I’ll respond within 30 days, or sooner if the law in your area requires it. I won’t charge you for making a request, and I won’t treat you differently for making one.
Children
This site and my services are meant for adults. I don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you think a child has given me their information, email me and I’ll delete it.
Links to other sites
This site links to other websites, like YouTube, Instagram, and the stores in my reading list. I’m not responsible for how those sites handle your information, so please check their privacy policies.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy as my business or the law changes. When I do, I’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top. If I make a big change to how I use your information, I’ll let subscribers know by email.
